"Jack we have to go now!"
"Wait KC, I need to get my journal," yelled Jack over the time machine's deafening wind.
Days earlier KC and Jack had been planning and perfecting their time machine. They're inspiration: they'd been learning about the American Revolution, and about how we declared independence from Britain. Intrigued by the American bravery that was displayed during the famous Boston Tea Party, Jack and KC decided to go back to December 16, 1773 the night that the Sons of Liberty led a group of rebels aboard three vessels of the East India Tea Company and dumped all three-hundred and forty-two chests of tea into the Boston Harbor. Now it was their moment, they were finally going to try out their newest invention and embark on a journey that would change their perspective of how they viewed their country. The room filled with a suffocating wind which formed into a vortex pulling KC and Jack into it's open mouth, as if it were a starving beast hungry for them.
"Jack, wake up. Hello? Wakey Wakey, Jack!"
"Huh, oh I mean yeah. Ugh, my head is pounding where are we anyway? Wait, no way oh my gosh did it work? Did the time machine work? Are we in Boston?" Jack asked as he got to his feet.
"I think so, look around you." KC said in awe while she took a look around herself.
They both turned in unison to take in their surroundings. They had landed in a bustling city street, there was carts and merchants riding up and down it. It was narrow but surrounded by tall houses and buildings with tattered paint plastered on the walls. Jack finally noticed their clothing and pointed it out to KC stating, "Looks like we changed with the time too!"
Jack was wearing tan trousers with knee high white stockings and black pilgrim shoes. His shirt was replaced with a vest like undershirt and a long brown coat. KC sported a white petticoat, long white stockings, pilgrim shoes, and a dark blue gown with a brown belt.
"KC, look!" Jack shouted and pointed behind KC to a large piece open grass.
KC, startled spinned around in a rush to see what was going on. "What, what do you see?"
There in the open area was the most patriotic figures during the American Revolution.
